Terms of Service

Tiny Jaunt helps a family decide what to do with a young child today. It is a small personal project run in the United Kingdom by one person, used by one household and the people they invite. This page sets out what you can expect from it, what it asks of you, and — just as importantly — the things it deliberately does not promise. Using it means you accept them. What it collects and who it sends that to is a separate page: the Privacy Policy.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, or with your Google account. There are no passwords, so anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you — keep that account secure. A session lasts seven days and then you sign in again.

Accounts are for adults. You need to be 18 or over to hold one, because holding one means entering a child’s details. Nothing checks your age: that is a rule, not a gate.

Your household

Everything lives in a household rather than in your personal account. Anyone you invite can see your children’s names, ages and interests, where you live, when each of you is free, and everything you have saved, planned or been to. Invite the people who genuinely share the childcare and nobody else.

You can remove a member at any time, and you can leave a household yourself. Removing someone ends their access from that moment; it cannot unsee what they have already seen.

Suggestions, not advice

This is the most important thing on the page. Tiny Jaunt suggests. It does not book, check, inspect or vouch.

• It has never been to any of these places. It does not know whether a venue is safe, whether it is really step-free, whether the session is running today, or whether there is space.
• Opening hours, prices, addresses and age ranges are read off someone else’s web page and go out of date without telling us.
• It books nothing and holds nothing. If a place needs booking, you book it.
• The weather is a Met Office forecast, and a forecast is a forecast.

Check before you set off, and use your own judgement once you are there. You are responsible for your child’s safety and wellbeing at all times, and nothing on this page moves that anywhere else.

Where the words come from

The morning note, the details pulled out of a page you save, and the reading of a calendar entry are all written by an AI model. It gets things wrong. It can misread a page, state a plausible detail that is simply not there, or misjudge what a pencilled diary entry meant.

Ideas also arrive from an automatic daily search of the web. Those have had no human check at all before they reach your library. Treat everything the product tells you as a well-informed first draft, never as fact.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and per person. If you connect it, Tiny Jaunt reads the coming week of your events to work out who is free, and creates a calendar named “Tiny Jaunt” that it writes an event to when you claim a day. Claiming writes the event; un-claiming removes it. Nothing else is written.

You can disconnect in Settings, or revoke access from your Google account, whenever you like. Your use of Google’s own services stays governed by Google’s terms.

Messages we send

The daily digest arrives by email, or by WhatsApp if you add and verify a phone number. Either can be turned off, and removing your number switches you back to email. Your mobile operator may charge you for messages, and a WhatsApp conversation is also governed by Meta’s terms.

Sign-in codes are not marketing and cannot be switched off — they are how you get in. We do not send advertising.

What you add

What you put in stays yours: your ideas, links, notes, your children’s details, your plans. You give us permission to store it, show it to your household, pass it to the services named in the Privacy Policy, and process it to produce your daily note. Nothing beyond that. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train an AI model.

Add only what you have the right to add. In particular, do not enter a child’s details unless you are their parent or carer, or have the permission of one.

A few things cannot be undone from inside the app — archiving an idea and removing a session from one are both one-way. The app says so before you do it.

Fair use

Do not use Tiny Jaunt to break the law or to harass anyone, do not probe or overload it, do not scrape it, and do not resell access to it. Saving pages automatically is what the capture token, the iOS Shortcut and the browser extension are for, so that is fine at a human pace — but a token is yours and is tied to your household, so keep it to yourself. Accounts that abuse any of this can be suspended.

Money

There is none. Tiny Jaunt is free, there is no paid plan or subscription, nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel. No part of the product is held back behind a payment. If that ever changes it will be said here first, and it will not apply to anything you have already done.

It can change, and it can stop

This is one person’s side project, not a company with an on-call rota. There is no uptime promise. Features can change or disappear, the morning note can fail to arrive, and the whole thing can be switched off. If it is ever shut down for good you will get reasonable notice by email and the chance to ask for a copy of your data first.

If something goes wrong

Tiny Jaunt is provided as it is, with no warranty that it will be accurate, available, or right for any particular day out. So far as the law allows, we are not liable for a wasted journey, a closed venue, a cancelled class, a missed booking, a soaking, or anything else that follows from acting on a suggestion without checking it.

Some liability cannot be excluded and is not excluded here: death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and anything else the law does not permit to be limited. If you are using Tiny Jaunt as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending it

You can stop using Tiny Jaunt whenever you like. To have your account and everything in it deleted, email the address below and it will be done. There is no self-service delete button yet — that is the honest position rather than a promise of one.

Changes to these terms

These terms will change as the product does. The date at the top is the version marker, and anything material will be mentioned by email or in the product. Carrying on using it after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you can also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
